We have three main offerings. Each has a fixed structure so you know what you are buying; the actual content is shaped on the scoping call.

If your need does not fit any of the three, the scoping call is the right place to figure it out — there is no charge for it.

Which one is right for you

  • Start with an Architecture review if you have a strategic decision to make in the next quarter — a major refactor, a stack pivot, a typed-FP or agent-native adoption — and you want a written, defensible second opinion before you commit.
  • Choose Fractional advisory if you need sustained design and PR-review presence alongside your team over a full quarter or more — a multi-month modernisation or methodology rollout you can’t pause to outsource.
  • Choose Embedded IC when you have a specific build that needs senior delivery hands for 6–16 weeks, and the team benefits from the constructive discipline rubbing off.

1 · Architecture review

A two-week, fixed-fee engagement that ends in a written report and a half-day working session with your team.

Best when the question is “are we about to spend six months on the wrong improvement plan?”

Length 2 weeks calendar; ~40 hours of our time
Cadence Async + 3 scheduled sessions (kick-off, mid-point, readout)
Best for Teams considering a major improvement plan, an architecture direction change, or a typed-FP / agent-native adoption
You provide Read access to the codebase, an hour with two or three principals, the strategic question we are trying to answer
You receive A written architecture review (typically 8–15 pages) covering observed structure, the strongest two or three risks, three to five concrete narrowing moves with effort estimates, and a working session to walk through it
Pricing Fixed fee, quoted on the scoping call (expect ≈5 days of effort at €2,000/day)

Risk reversal: if the readout doesn’t surface at least one concrete narrowing move worth more than the fee, we refund half. The report is yours to keep regardless of what you decide next.

2 · Fractional advisory

An ongoing relationship with your engineering leadership and a small working group. Two days per week, three-month minimum.

Best when the question is “how do we adopt this without breaking the team or our ability to ship value?”

Length 3 months minimum, typically 3–6
Cadence 2 days / week — one day on-site or in synchronous sessions, one day async / async code review
Best for Teams adopting typed-FP idioms over time, building out agent-native development practice, or undergoing a multi-quarter modernisation
You receive Embedded advisory across architecture, PR review, hiring rubric, and team rituals; private Slack / Discord channel; monthly written summary for stakeholders
Pricing €2,000 / day, billed monthly (≈€16,000 / month at the 2-days/week cadence)

3 · Embedded IC

A full-time or 4-day/week contract where we ship features alongside your team, with the same constructive discipline applied to PRs as to architecture.

Best when the question is “can we just get someone in here who has done this before?”

Length Project-scoped; 6 weeks minimum, typically 8–16
Cadence 4 or 5 days / week, depending on availability
Best for Teams that need senior delivery on a specific build — a new optics-heavy data pipeline, a Rust subsystem, an effect-system migration — and benefit from the resulting team mentorship
You receive Pull requests, design docs, eval suites — shipped under your repo and your release cadence; pair sessions on demand
Pricing €2,000 / day, weekly invoicing

Working terms

  • Based in the Netherlands. Working hours are CET, comfortable ±5h overlap, English working language.
  • Contracts via the Constructive Programming entity; EU MSAs and standard NDAs accepted as written.
  • Invoicing monthly (advisory) or weekly (IC); net 30.
  • IP assigned per the engagement agreement; work product is yours on payment.
  • Availability — currently available for select engagements. The scoping call will be honest about start dates.

What happens after you book

  1. Scoping call (30 min, free) — we describe what we do, you describe the problem, we work out together which offering fits.
  2. Written scope — within 48 hours of the call you receive a one-pager: offering, deliverables, dates, price.
  3. Engagement letter — once you accept the scope, we send the MSA + SOW. Sign-back closes the loop.
  4. Kick-off — usually within two weeks of sign-back.

Not a fit?

This is consulting on engineering practice, not a recruiting agency and not a managed-services shop. We do not:

  • Place engineers full-time.
  • Operate your infrastructure.
  • Take on greenfield builds where the team has no senior in seat.
  • Sell tooling. (Our libraries are open-source; the engagements above are the only paid product.)

If any of that is what you need, we will happily refer you onward on the scoping call.
